SMSC at Bramley Park Academy
SMSC stands for spiritual, moral, social and cultural. All schools and academies in England must show how well their pupils develop in SMSC. Have a look at our wonderful website to see frequent evidence of how we develop SMSC within our school, community and families and how we meet some of the required outcomes.
Spiritual
Explore beliefs and experience; respect values; discover oneself and the surrounding world; use imagination and creativity; reflect.
Moral
Recognise right and wrong; understand consequences; investigate moral and ethical issues; offer reasoned views.
Social
Use social skills in different contexts; work well with others; resolve conflicts; understand how communities work.
Cultural
Appreciate cultural influences; participate in culture opportunities; understand, accept, respect and celebrate diversity.
The academy follows the Leeds RE and PSHCE approved scheme of learning which actively covers these aspects as taught content running alongside the input from assemblies, special events, fundraising and extracurricular activities.
